Vaccine Schedule &
Animal Husbandry Practices
At 3R Livestock & Land we believe how an animal is raised is the most important variable. We strive to keep things as natural as possible, but we do use vaccines and standard interventions with our products. They are as follows.

Swine
For all piglets, Butcher or 4H/FFA we do the following:
Day 3 - Respisure, Iron, Teeth Clipping, Ear Notching, Tail Docking for females
Day 7 - TX4
Day 21 - CircoFlex, Castration for males
Day 28 - TX4
Day 42 - CircoFlex
Deworming, Vitamin C, & Beneficial Herbs as needed
Our Breeders Receive the following: TX4, Litter Guard, Parvo Shield,
Regular Deworming

Eggs
Our hens are pasture raised in a multi-species rotational grazing program with goats and a steer. We feed Non-GMO feed with herbs being our first round of defense against internal & external parasites. We do not vaccinate our birds.
They are housed in chicken tractors year round.

Goats
Goats are naturally 'Browers' not 'Grazers' - meaning they shouldn't be eating grass like cows; they should be eating brush. Since goats are being raised in a non-traditional setting, they are highly susceptible to internal parasites, we are moving to a multi-species rotational grazing program in hopes of fighting this issue naturally. However, we do use chemical dewormers as needed to keep the herd healthy. We respect all withdraw dates for all treatments.
Kids all receive:
Selenium Gel at birth and as needed
CD&T at 4 & 6 weeks
We band males at 8-10 weeks
Breeding Stock all receive:
Annual CD&T Booster 4 weeks before kidding
Copper & other minerals as needed

Bees
3R Bees are sourced locally, we use natural mite treatments first, followed by chemical if needed. We only feed sugar water to prevent starvation. We grow lots of pollinator friendly plants for them. We love our bees.

Beeswax Products
We render our wax and source our other ingredients where quality meets affordability. Vannilla Beans are sourced from a Co-op who imports them.

Goat's Milk & Lard Soap
The milk comes from our goats! I milk Bubbles, our red Boer with Nubian influence after the babies are weaned until the freezer is full. We've found that this slight Nubian influence makes it possible for a Boer goat to produce enough milk to raise babies and then make soap.
The lard does not come from our pigs as we are still learning to render lard in an efficient manner.
We source our other ingredients where quality meets cost.
